Stephens Pond a lovely camp location.  It provides a short hike, but may be populated because of easier access.

Terrain:    Long stretch of Road Walking (Hikers nightmare)

Day One
One night stay at Yurt (before departure)

Day Two
Drive to Trail Head at Wakely Dam
Hike into Stephens Pond (9.1 miles)

There are several hikes of the NLP in this area to explore and camp.

Day Three
Explore Stephens Pond area
Camp at Stephens Pond

After your wilderness hike enjoy camp at stephens pond.

Day Four
Hike to Lake Durant (3.4 miles)
One night stay in Yurt

This package includes two nights lodging at Adirondack Wilderness Adventures  and three days of guided hiking/camping.  You will be receiving 1-2 licensed guides depending on the size of your party.

History of Wakely Dam:  William Wakely owned a sawmill, dam and hotels (his hotels did have a tendency to burn).

McCanes:  Was an old stagecoach route that traveled from McCanes to Blue Mountain Lake.

History of Lake Durant:  This was a federal work project during the Depression Days.  This promoted the Union Pacific Railroad and later the Adirondack Railroad.
