We at Adirondack Wilderness Adventures would like to extend our sincere wishes in your endeavor. Been there done that October 4th, 2002. We know the 19 degree days, sleet, rain (everyday of course), blisters (with a package a mole skin a day), and swollen knees and feet. Would we be stupid enough to do it again. The answer YES. Now back in reality and the wounds have healed: BUT - - wake to West Lake with a crisp frost during fall foliage, hear the loons on Silver Lake, see the cliffs at Tirrell Pond were well worth the ADK trip. Even etched further the dreaded road walking, the bog walking North, the broken water filter, and washing when its 19 degrees. The reason I tell you this is, we at Adirondack Wilderness Adventures RELATE.

Our new addition the Bleecker Bunk lean-to. Not your original does contain half the comforts of home. Built for our thru-hikers of the Northville-Lake Placid trail for their endeavors.

and SHUTTLE TO AND FROM THE TRAIL HEAD (SOUTHERN END). You are also welcome to park your vehicle at Back To Basics instead of the trailhead.

The Hostel accommodations are approximately 10 minutes from the trail head in Benson.

NTP BACKPACKERS PLEASE NOTE: THE TRAIL ACCESS AT MCCANES IS NOW CLOSED AND MUST BE ACCESSED BY DAY & WEEKEND BACKPACKERS THROUGH LAKE DURANT TO GAIN ACCESS TO STEPHENS POND OR THE CASCADE POND. THRU-HIKERS OF THE NTP TRAVELING THE WHOLE NTP TRAIL ARE NOT REQUIRED TO CONTACT MR. MACALUSO.
