Christmas 2004

"Enjoying a little Christmas Ale after our hike to the top of Kane Mtn. The views from the fire tower were fantastic - 360 degree of beautiful snow-blanketed lakes and mountain peaks. Also saw some wicked cool ice crystals on the trail, underfoot-they were unbelievably delicate, like ribbon candy or spun glass. Thanks Dan & Kim for recommending this hike!

The yurt is great, although a little chilly last night (Dan thought it got down to about -10). We think we've got the hand of the wood stove now and tonight we hope to be a little more comfortable. Watching the moon rise & move across the dome last night made our first stay in a yurt really beautiful - on Christmas Eve!
