Meet Liz & Madeleine
![]() February 11-13th, 2005
"We arrived late on a snowy night after getting stuck on the hill and pushing the car slowly to the top. Luckily we were greeted with a warm fire and smiles from Kim and her neighbor. The yurt was filled with candles and "Happy Birthday" balloons, and we immediately relaxed into this friendly and cozy place. We awoke the first morning warm in the bed, but with cold noses and visable breath. Madeleine started the fire, but still we had a hard time leaving the cosy yurt for the grey, windy day outside. Eventually we got our snowshoes on, and the sun came out for a bit. We explored the area, stopping to see the treehouse, which is very cute. We saw Kim and her neighbors and got some hiking advice, and met her very outgoing daughters. We warmed up in the sauna and then spent the evening drinking wine and eating dinner followed by the famous apple brownies - all by candlelight. We fell asleep with stars shining through the yurts dome and woke to another snow-covering. Now it's a beautiful, warm day and we're off for another snowshoe. This has been the perfect Valentine's Day/Birthday weekend. We have found everything we needed in the yurt, as well as a beautiful, peaceful place and friendly host. Hopefully we will be back in the Spring to see this place in another season."
Thank you!
