A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

COMBINED WITH ATV TOURING

September 10, 2004 - September 13, 2004

Meet Beth & Bryan

The simple plan was some atving, hiking and canoeing.
Beth & Bryan came for a long weekend for celebration along with some outdoor recreation.

Happy Birthday!!!!  Bryan had even emailed a birthday gift to Back To Basics so Beth would have it upon her arrival here.
It was Beth's birthday and Bryan had called to make arrangements for a weekend getaway.

ATV trails, hiking Kane Mountain, and canoeing Pine Lake was on the daily agenda.
The plan while they were here was to do some ATV touring, hiking, and canoeing.

A birthday cake for the birthday girl - Congrats!  The campfire was wonderful that evening.
(Left) Time for the birthday girl to blow out the candles. (Right) Beth & Bryan had wonderful camp fires during their stay.

The campfire ring is a wonderful place to kick back and relax.
Our neighbor, Bill, even decided on a relaxing campfire that evening.

The 4 wheelers provide a lot of recreation for Bryan and Beth.  The off road vehicle is one of Bryan's favorite outdoor activities.
Since Beth & Bryan moved so quickly on the ATV, we decided on some still shots.

Wait a minute - almost done - SMILE
During their stay, they rode a lot of the local snowmobile trails.

Time for the road trip  On the road heading to Pine Lake launch.
The daily agenda today was canoeing on Pine Lake.

We've reached the end of the road.  Lets get it started!
Beth & Bryan arrived at Pine Lake State Boat Launch, and had a beautiful day to explore the lake.

Things to ponder!
Both Bryan & Beth looked forward to their canoeing excursion.

Not the tree!  Canoeing can be a definate workout!
The calm waters were crystal clear today and Beth & Bryan had the lake mostly to themselves.

Maybe I should of brought the sun glasses?
Definately a relaxing day in the sunshine!

Maybe a float trip instead?  Steady as she goes.
It was time for the canoe trip into the back end of Pine Lake.

A great adventure for the day.  No hurry today - time for some R&R
Bryan did the navigating along the shorelines to check out all the small coves and inlets.

Heading along the lake shore.  Black and white pictures are a wonderful way to capture a different view.
Dan decided on a few black & white photos of their canoeing trip.

Time for a little sight seeing.
Time to go the distance!

Beyond the beach  Simple things sometimes mean the most
Dan decided after their departure to take some photos from the small beach.

"Thank you so much for a great time.  Kim & Dan make you feel like part of their family. We will definitally be back.  4 wheeling almost everyday alot of fun.  Checked out the huge beaver dam & went for a canoe ride on Pine Lake & Pop tried to follow us.  We missed our dogs but Mup & Pop made up for it.

First day here Mup hung out most of the day w/us & slept soundly on the bottom bunk. Dan & Kim had a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday & Dan's. It was very yummy.

We went to the Pinnacle for my birthday dinner. Pretty good food. Climbed Kane Mountain to see the sunset. It was a beautiful - a must do for everyone that comes here.

The yurts are great. Caught the rare white cougar. Her name is Marshmellow. She might be still around on our next trip.

Dan & Kim thanks again for a great time. So much more than we expected. See everyone at the reunion."
