ADIRONDACK BACKCOUNTRY CAMPS OFFER AN OUTDOOR WINTER WILDERNESS CABIN
FOR ALL YOUR SKIING PLEASURES
Difficult
Glasgow Mills and Hillabrandt Lake and Vlei
(6.6 miles, RT) An interesting and beautiful winter trek. Is popular among snowmobiles due to the numerous connecting destinations.
Irving Pond and Bellows Lake to Peters Corners
(9.5 mile if Holmes Lakes are explored) This complex of trails is good for backcountry skiing. A few sections on the E end will challenge even the best skiers, please use good judgment. This is also used extensively by snowmobiles.
Jockeybush Lake
(2 miles RT, easy) This can be skied by the more skilled backcountry skiers as there are two fairly steep grades. Good snow cover is necessary, as well as adequate cold to freeze the outlet stream.
Stewart and Indian Lakes
(4.6 miles, RT). This trailed is marked as a ski trail. You can explore and gain access to the lakes with little difficulty. It is somewhat of a challenge because of the relentless climbing. Exercise caution in speeds on the downhill's coming out.
Third & Fourth Lake
(6.8 miles, RT) The backcountry skier will need energy to climb Roosters Hill's knolls and then a long, steeper shoulder of West Lake Mt.
