All materials and supplies have been acquired for remote base camp trips.
SUMMER 2004
The first Back To Basics reunion will be taking place for our past guests. You can find additional reunion news at the bottom of the newsletter.

FUTURE
Rock Climbing
Still looking to integrate this plan, we will keep you informed.
Dog Sledding
Still looking, please let us know if someone can supply in our backcountry area.
The Lodge
Still trying to make this happen. We hope it will be coming soon.
Snowmobile Rentals
We are getting a lot of inquiries, but unfortunately still not able to locate someone in the surrounding area.
NEW ADDITIONS TO THE WEBSITE
TARYN & RACHEL - Taryn & Rachel wanted to get in on the action, so we made a page for each of them to experiment with. Beware: Mom does not edit these pages at all; they are the kid's creations.
MOUNTAIN BIKING - A page dedicated to mountain biking trails in our area.
STILL HUNTING - A page dedicated to the Art of Still Hunting in the Adirondacks.
ADIRONDACK ADVERTISING - We were receiving a lot of inquiries about placing links on the website. We created several link pages for the area businesses, which we hope will also help our guests in planning their trips.
HISTORY IN THE ADIRONDACKS - A brief history page about the Adirondack Mountains.
MOUNTAIN LAKE HISTORY - We are trying to create a history page concerning the Mountain Lake Resort and Mountain Lake Electric Railroad that once was in Bleecker. We are finding it difficult to obtain information on this lost piece of history.
SOUTHERN ADIRONDACK DINING & RESTAURANTS - We are in the process of including our local restaurants for our guest that would rather “eat-out” during their wilderness experience.
HUNTING & FISHING OUTFITTING - Supplies have now been obtained to begin remote hunting and fishing excursions.

Andreas & Kaspar - taught us about letterboxing along with a great recipe.
Andrew - taught us about the commonwealth work exchange program and that it is hard to get out of Bleecker once you arrive.
Dennis - Imagination can devise an excellent shelter in a survival situation.
Ken - The Bleecker neighbors can corrupt the guests when the hosts are away.
Matt & Melissa - Our pets remain very important in our lives.

NEW BACK TO BASICS REUNION NEWS!
We at Back To Basics continue planning the free weekend reunion of our past guests scheduled for June 25-June 28, 2004. Currently Whitetail Run has been reserved for Bruce & Suzanne; Bear Necessities was reserved for Debbie and her family; and Crow's Nest for Ana. Tenting is still available for all our previous guests. We are very pleased they will be returning for the 1st year reunion. The only thing required for the reunion is that a dinner dish is prepared nightly by all to share with the guests. If you would like to book for the Back To Basics reunion, please email us at borntobeoutdoors@gmail.com or call us at 518-775-1747.
POPCORN'S KERNEL:
Please bring me some of your pets and kids to play with while you stay here. Adult humans can be boring!
![]() Luna came to visit in February; we had a great time romping in the snow. She was hesitant when it came time to leave, her Dad had to pick her up and put here in the truck, I don't know why she just couldn't stay?
As you notice, I still have to be the mix here. All the guest photos seem to have me included.
I got to participate in a winter backpack excursion of Section 1 of the Northville-Lake Placid trail with Ana, Andreas, and Kaspar. The best part was I got to stay with Ana in the Yurt during here stay here and was allowed to even sleep on the bed!
I also have a new friend next door named “Mup” she comes and visits frequently. In fact every morning when her owner, Bill, leaves for work she comes up for the day.
