ADIRONDACK HUNTING OUTFITTER
Adirondack Outfitters can meet all your outfitting needs. Consider a fishing trip or hunting excursion.
At Back To Basics we have choosen a beautiful remote forever wild location that is teaming with game.  During your hunting expedition you will find abundant signs of whitetail deer, Adirondack black bear, wild turkey, coyote, fox and a vast array of game birds during your hunting trip.  To accommodate the trapper; beaver, muskrat, otter, and fisher also frequent the area.
The outfitters base camp is located in a wilderness area 2-miles deep in the Southern Adirondack Park.
A location that is found by very few, but is considered to be one of the best locations in the Adirondacks for your big game and small game hunting needs.  This remote destination is very secluded and offers over a 1000 acres of terrain ranging from high ridge mountains to low grassy swamps.  For the most part this area will be exclusively yours, seeing another hunter will be slim to none in this section of the Adirondacks.
This stunning backwoods location has a large network of vlys, streams, creeks, rivers, beaver dams, lakes, and a mix of hardwood and softwood forests combined, thus supporting a large amount of wildlife.
The area is well supportive for all your hunting techniques:  i.e., ground blinds, tree stands, and still hunting skills.  THE GAME IS HERE!!  All that is requires of you (the hunter), is your skill (skill is definately needed to harvest one of these great Adirondack Big Game Animals).

Following dinner, we will discuss your next day's hunting excursion.  Maps of the remote location, boundaries, gear, equipment, and some tips and tidbits on Adirondack hunting will be discussed.
Whitetail deer frequent the Adirondack Mountains. Consider a remote base camp for your next hunting trip.
At 5 AM, you and your group, will be provided a hot breakfast at the main house to get you off to a great start.
A quick gear check follows prior to our departure to base camp.  The drive to the remote location is short and your Adirondack hunting excursion has now begun.  Backpacking is required to reach the remote base camp location, but does provide orientation to the area along the way.   Details of the terrain will be shown; along with many different hunting options for you to choose from.
When we arrive at base camp, it is time for the group to set up camp and unpack (while in the field all your meals will be included), but please feel free to bring any favorite snacks or foods that you wish during your hunting trip.  After camp is set, the HUNTING WILL COMMENCE!!!!!
While you and your group are out hunting the vast Adirondack forest, We will be preparing your Adirondack Backcountry Meals or MRE's over the open campfire.  When you return to base camp it is time to relax and enjoy a hearty backcountry meal, MRE, hot coffee, and perhaps a cold one.
At Back to Basics, we pride ourselves on your comfort and safety.  Your trip will be one that will be remembered for years to come.
The Adirondack area you will be hunting is known for big game, last year a 450 lb Black Bear was taken.  The average whitetail deer is 160 to 180 lbs, but is not uncommon to find them tipping the scale at 200+.  The points sizes range from 6-point bucks to a 12-point bucks.
While in the field your accommodations will be a outfitter's tent that comfortably sleeps 5.  The advantage to an outfitter's base camp is that your staying where the game is.  You will wake in the morning to begin your hunt in a vast wilderness area of the Adirondack Mountains.
THE GAME IS HERE!  Your skills are required to harvest one of these great animals.  You do have free range to hunt your style.  You will not be sitting at a watch for hours waiting for your guide to pick you up - unless of course that is your choice.  You have the freedom to roam the vast area, learn the deer and bears sleeping, feeding, and movement habits.  Learn the area and apply your skills to bag an Adirondack trophy.
Outdoor Educational Survival Classes can heighten your senses as well as relax you mind and soul. Your hosts will take you to remote areas for you to discover, explore, and experience a new respect for nature.
A FEW HUNTING FACTS IN THE ADIRONDACKS
- PROVIDED BY DEC-
The Adirondack Forest Preserve is open to public hunting, except in intensive use areas. Big game hunters seek white-tailed deer and black bear in the fall, while others lie in wait for ducks or pursue roughed grouse and other small game like the snowshoe hare. Adirondack furbearers such as beaver, fisher, and river otter are sought by trappers.
The Adirondacks is home for 54 species of mammals. White-tailed deer are abundant, and there are more black bears in the Adirondacks than in any other part of the state. Forest residents that usually escape detection include bobcat, fisher, and pine marten. information provided by DEC.
