ADIRONDACK LEAN-TO NTP THRU-HIKERS

Bleecker Bunk
The Bleecker Bunk was established for the thru hikers of the Northville-Lake Placid trail.  It serves as a hiker hostel for the night before your departure or upon your completion of 133 miles.

The Bleecker Bunk was the original start of why Back To Basics came to be.  You host left to hike the NTP on October 4th, 2002.  During the thru-hike, I found that not many services or even the basics were supplied to the NTP thru-hikers during their endeavor.  We at Back To Basics, purpose to change that.  Thru-hikers of the NTP need a support system during their journey, especially if traveling solo.  I found there was no accommodations, parking alternatives, or even a shuttle for the trail.  Actually, Fulton County does not even exist in the Adirondack Park Search, even though we are the beginning of the southern terminus of the trailhead and the Gateway to the Adirondacks (CORRECTION:  WE DO NOW APPEAR, EFFECTIVE 2004)

We do guarrenty that by Back To Basics making it's point known, others will follow suit shortly to aid in the completion of your journey.

The Bleecker Bunk is basically a place to crash for the night.  Thru hikers are not selective, they have slept through it all.

The Bleecker Lean-to has a outdoor gear theme with a small piece of history, for the little we can find, we thought it would be nice to show you the history of Bleecker before your begin your footsteps 133 miles north.

The backpacking accommodations may be rented for a small fee; if the yurts, treehouse and cabin are full, or for an overflow at one of the main lodging facilities.

If the cabin, treehouse, and yurts are occupied, and we have knowledge of thru hikers coming through - priority will be given to the thru-hiker and not rented.
