SURVIVAL IN THE WILDERNESS
Safety at Adirondack Wilderness Adventures
At Adirondack Wilderness Adventures your hosts consider safety top priority. We want you to enjoy your stay, but at the same time remain safe in your backcountry lodging.
Some back to basics safety:
If you don't know, ASK. There is never a "dumb" question.
If you are uncomfortable with something, TELL.
In case of any emergency, please inform us immediately.
Black bears and other wildlife frequent the Adirondack backcountry area, please do not leave food or garbage outside, not the guests you want to join you in camp.
In case of strong storms during your stay with us, please come to the main home, if you are staying in the yurts or treehouse. The yurts will withstand the storms, but your hosts are concerned with the trees in the yurt areas.
Fire extinguishers and smoke detectors are located in your accommodation, and tested prior to each arrival. The Bear Necessities cabin also contains two fire escape ladder in both upstairs bedrooms.
For the outdoor beginner's (great to have you). Do not hesitate to ask regarding trails and terrain, we would love to help. If it is your first time out, do let someone know your itinerary - avid outdoors enthusiast do it out of habit, start out on the right foot for your own backcountry safety.
We do require a Waiver form for your stay. Please take a moment to review and return prior to your stay. If it is not on file upon your arrival, we will kindly ask that you fill it out here. Guided trips will be required to file a Waiver form prior to departure.
